Azik Chowdhury
I am a British Bangladeshi and I have lived in the U.K. since 1972.
I am a father of two boys, and I work full time as a business analyst.
My passion for writing has developed over the years, since I spend a lot of time travelling to and from work, I kept thinking, "I'll never get this time back."
I wanted to do something more than sit on a train, a plane, or a bus, I wanted to fill that time with something more meaningful.
It's hard to set up an easel on public transport and start painting, but it is fairly easy to open a laptop and start putting down your thoughts. That's how it started, and that was in 2007.
My first book, A Muslim Boy, took a long time. I guess I was going through a huge learning curve. My second book, The Refugee, has taken less than half the time.
In between writing a third novel - The Rhino and The Poacher - I have written an anthology. This highlights chapters from the first two books, and it also highlights some of my other works. Articles, I have written for online magazines, and my attempts at poetry.
I hope you enjoy.
Thanks,
Azik
